This blog is focused on the representation of different social groups in present day advertisements. Although not nearly as blatantly stereotypical as in the past, the media still manages to discretely represent different social groups in clichéd ways without the viewers realizing at a first glance. The four categories we are concerned with are race, gender, sexuality and social class. With the following advertisements we will prove that these ads are guilty of conventional representations that at times can be offensive to audiences.
